The Tempmate M1 reprogrammable, reusable data logger is powered by a CR2032 button cell battery, which is replaceable by the user. A new and fully loaded lithium coin battery allows a running time of approximately 90 days under standard monitoring conditions storing 32000+ readings. Very low or very high temperatures can have a negative effect on battery capacity and reduce running time, and it is recommended to replace the battery based on usage. The Tempmate M2 multi-use USB logger runs on a user-replaceable CR2450 battery with a battery life of approximately 6 months. The CR2450 battery is readily changed out by simply turning the cap on the back of the device, making the process quick and straightforward.

However, the integrity of the recorded data is still safeguarded by the nature of the device itself. The PDF and CSV reports are generated only momentarily when the device is connected via USB, and once the logger is unplugged the reports must be re-created, importantly, the files stored on the device cannot be deleted completely, meaning the original recorded data always remains intact and recoverable.
